Ramsey was for maÂny years a well known teachÂer near BourneÂmouth. A proÂliÂfic comÂposÂer of part-songs and piÂaÂnoÂforÂte pieces, he alÂso wrote hymns and carÂols, and on muÂsicÂal theÂoÂry. He reÂtired in 1916. In the last year of his life he was in poor health, but he orÂganÂized and conÂductÂed a chorÂal soÂciÂeÂty in the vilÂlage of ChiÂchestÂer.
